Highly Energy Efficient
The Heat Pump 290VAN delivers exceptional energy efficiency, with up to 20 SEER2, 11.5 EER2, and 9.5 HSPF2, and meets ENERGY STAR® guidelines for high-efficiency performance in select sizes. It features full variable-speed operation for precise load-matching and consistent comfort, and is Hybrid Heat® capable, allowing seamless integration with a gas furnace to optimize winter heating efficiency.
Quiet, Comfortable, and Even Heating & Cooling
The system operates quietly, reaching just 54 dB during the lowest-capacity cooling condition. Its AeroQuiet™ System II design incorporates a compressor sound blanket, quiet-mount split post compressor grommets, and a forward-swept fan blade to minimize noise. Additionally, soft start technology ensures smooth ramp-up at startup, reducing vibration and providing a quieter overall experience.
Evolution Connex Communicating Control & TECHNOLOGY
When paired with the Connex system this heat pump really outperforms with technology that minimizes temperature fluctuations and other humidity, fan control and lifestyle based programming. It’s easy to use and has wireless access so you can manage your comfort from outside the house.
This heat pump features a fully variable compressor (20–100% capacity) and Puron Advance™ refrigerant. Compatible with 2-stage thermostats and suitable indoor products, it can later be upgraded to the full Evolution™ system. Built-in protections include a high-pressure switch, suction pressure transducer, temperature sensors, and filter drier, with enhanced diagnostics via the Evolution™ Connex™ Control. Available in 2–5 tons, it delivers flexible, reliable, and efficient performance.

It’s an AC that runs in reverse to take ambient heat into the components of the system allowing heat transfer to inside the house. Heat that’s just hanging around outside.
Need a method of moving the air in the house so most HPs have some kind of internal air handler or furnace. Lots of applications these days are able to operate without using back up heat. However some designs are best with an option for emergency.
Sounds can be relative -the sound inside is no louder than your furnace now. We are adding an appliance that operates year around, day & night, so choosing a quiet system OUTSIDE does matter for most clients. Yes, the cooling cycles are identical in capacity to an AC system.
