Install a Ductless Heat Pump

Ductless heat pumps combine two amazing technological concepts into one efficient and convenient home heating and cooling solution. Heat pumps use the concept of heat transfer to remove heat from your home during the summer for cooling, while adding heat to the air inside your home during the winter for heating. These units are more efficient and versatile than traditional air conditioning and furnace systems, offering you excellent energy and financial savings while heating and cooling your home via a single appliance. Ductless technology allows for the retrofitting of older homes without central HVAC ductwork with multi-room heating and cooling systems, which use a single heat pump connected to several in-room distribution units for unparalleled comfort and temperature control. If you opt to install a one-ton or greater ductless heat pump system in your home, you are also eligible for an instant $1,200 rebate from PSE.

Convert from electric to natural gas

Electricity is often used to power home appliances, including furnaces, air conditioners, and water heaters. Although natural gas-powered appliances have been used since the early 20th century, changes in energy prices led to an increase in electrically-powered appliances over time. However, natural gas remains a clean and efficient power source that can be used to run home HVAC and water heating systems, often at lower environmental and financial costs. Today, you can gain significant benefits form converting your home’s electrical appliances to natural gas, including up to more than $3,000 in rebates from PSE. If you choose to convert your space and water heating appliances from electric baseboard heat to natural gas, you may be eligible for $3,550 back; conversions from forced air furnaces can return up to $2,950 in rebates, while space heating-only conversions offer rebates that range from $2,000 to $2,600. If you choose to install new equipment along with your conversion services, you can also enjoy the equipment rebates currently available on top of the baseline rebate for energy conversion.
