2011 Federal Tax Credits

Federal Tax Credits End 12/31/11.

A federal income tax credit of up to $500 is available for homeowners who make certain energy-efficiency home improvements in 2011 – for up to 10% of the cost.

Values of the tax credits are as follows:

Windows: 10% of cost(materials only), up to $200.
Exterior Door/Skylight: 10% of cost (materials only), up to $500.
Insulation: 10% of material cost (excluding labor), up to $500.
Advanced main air circulating fan (for an HVAC system): $50
Heat Pump: $300 for 15 SEER or higher.
Gas Furnace: $150 for AFUE 95 or higher.
Central Air Conditioner: $300 for 16 SEER or higher for stand alone, 14 SEER or higher in a package.
Tankless Water Heater: $300 for .82 ef or higher.
Heat Pump Water Heater: $300
